The eBusiness Eco-Tour Portal (e-BETP) is a bold, tech-driven initiative by Likana Safaris Uganda, developed under the eBooster Programme in partnership with the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) and Makerere University Business School (MUBS). The project was launched to bridge the digital divide that has long limited market access for local tourism Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Uganda’s underserved regions, particularly around Bwindi Impenetrable and Kibale National Parks.
Despite Uganda’s booming tourism potential, with increasing international arrivals, many local artisans, guides, and hospitality providers still lack access to digital tools and platforms that would help them participate in the global economy. The e-BETP responds to this challenge by providing a dedicated, mobile-friendly e-commerce platform tailored to the tourism sector.
